Don't Drink Your Own Pee! (If Your Zombie Apocalypse Bunker Runs Out of Water)

Kaden Sego

I just have to ask… have you ever been stuck in your zombie apocalypse bunker with the overwhelming urge to drink your own urine?

If not, congrats on having plentiful access to water rations. If you run out and find yourself painfully thirsty, here’s what you should know.

Why Drinking Pee Is a Terrible Idea

Yes, urine technically contains water. But what the survival shows don’t tell you is that yellow fluid is packed with your body’s waste: salts, toxins, and other substances your kidneys worked hard to get rid of.

Drinking it just reintroduces those toxins back into your system, making dehydration and kidney failure more likely, especially if you keep doing it.

If you still think this is just scare talk, here’s what WebMD says about drinking urine.

Better Ways to Find Water in the Apocalypse

Even during a zombie outbreak (or any disaster), there are smarter, safer ways to find drinkable water:

  • Rainwater – Set out containers, tarps, or even your hands to catch rainfall. Rain is usually safe to drink as-is.
  • Natural Sources – Streams, rivers, and lakes are better options, but purify or boil the water if you can.
  • Condensation – Make a solar still: dig a hole, cover it with plastic, let water vapor collect and drip into a cup.
  • Sap & Dew – In desperate times, collect morning dew with a cloth or look for clear, safe tree sap. (Not all sap is drinkable, so know your plants!)
  • Emergency Supplies – Check abandoned buildings for bottled drinks, canned goods with liquid, or even water inside the building’s water heater tank.

Stock Your Bunker for Scalp Survival

Hydration is not just about drinking water. In an apocalypse bunker, you also need a strong supply of scalp care to prevent zombie-level dryness, flaking, and irritation.

That is where Scare Care’s antidote trio comes in:

  • Dandruff Destroyer – Anti-dandruff shampoo powered by Selenium Sulfide to fight flakes.

  • Lifeless Lather – Gentle daily shampoo to cleanse without stripping your scalp.

  • Corpse Conditioner – Hydrating conditioner to restore softness and shine.

Your body needs water to survive. Your scalp needs Scare Care to thrive. So while you are stocking up on clean drinking water, make room in your bunker for the real scalp-saving antidotes.
